the•truth•shall•set•you•free

for the linguistically-challenged, the title means a lesson contained in a cd-rom, where the students can bring home the cd-rom and, by going thru' it, can fulfill certain learning objectives. well, i juz got to noe this term recently myself, when i had to come up with a 课件for one of my assignments. so you aren't dat bad if you dunno the meaning of the word.

anyway, this 课件involved coming up with powerpoint slides and hyperlinking them to make them flow. my total no. of slides amounted to a whopping 92 slides! so you can imagine the amt of work done, to find the materials, the pictures, to add in the slide transitions, the animation, etc.. boy, it waz alot of work.

then i tried to be a smart alec and wanted to add in a movie clip. but the parts i wanted were fr 2 different vcds (im becoming a pirate here), so i had to edit the movie clips and combine them together. dat alone took me 2+ hrs, but i waz quite proud of it. i muz really THANK GOD for this tho', coz i had to learn how to convert the files, and then how to edit them, and mind you, i have nvr done such stunts b4. plus i am such a IT-idiot, so you can imagine the stress i had b4 i began. but somehow, the Lord graciously led me to find the correct websites and go the correct ways (among millions of poss choices) in order to finish up my movie, and i aptly named it "the_matrix". hah.

anyway, then i had to add in some music file as well. but i dinno how to do it (ok, so im stoopid). but because i had to burn my 课件on my fren's laptop, i had to send my files over. and this waz really a great blessing indeed! for as my fren waz running thru' my prog for me, many mistakes were found, and my fren kindly helped me to change everything! (while i waz rushing the report part of this assignment, which waz due the nxt day.. haiz, im so last min rite.. cmi) then also due to the transfer to the laptop, i cld copy the song i needed fr my original cd to the laptop, and then insert the music file to my 课件!

so in the end, i had everything i wanted and needed in my prog - the ppt, the movie clip & the music file, all dat i had prayed for at the beginning of my work. REALLY THANKFUL TO GOD FOR DAT! and actually, the deadline waz fri 5pm, but i cldnt hand in on time. thankfully TO GOD, again, the teacher graciously extended the deadline to sat morn, and i waz thus able to hand it in on time. THANK GOD.

also THANKFUL to GOD for the fren who helped alter my 课件 - it waz like doing the prog for me man! really really greatful. if not, my slides wld have messed up big time. and if i had to hand in on fri 5pm, i wld have burned my cd-rom in the comp lab, then i wldnt have used the laptop to burn, then my fren wldnt have checked for me and spotted my big mistake, and then i wld have handed in a lousy piece of work, and everything wld have been disastrous. THANKFULLLL!

and somewhere along the line, there waz the fren who provided the empty cd-rom dat i needed, so i din have to buy (and therefore spend money), and the kind soul who lent me the cash card i needed to print my report (coz my cash card waz low on.. yeah, you guessed it - cash), and God who provided computers for me at the comp lab each time i needed it (once, the whole comp lab waz filled, save for one - the one i like to use. the other users cld have used any comps, but somehow dat comp waz juz not chosen, and i had gone to the comp lab at a time when many pple wld b there.. so it waz as tho God "choaped" the place specially for me.. cool)

this 课件thingy waz like "whoa" for me.. but because of God's help, many times it waz "phew"..
